Patch & Repair

Patch & Repair

Holes, cracks, and damage patched so the repair disappears once it's painted.

Drywall damage is rarely just a hole. A doorknob punch, a water stain from a slow leak, or a cut made for an electrical or plumbing fix all need the same three things done right: solid backing, a clean patch, and texture that matches the surrounding wall so the repair doesn't show once it's painted.

We cut back to sound drywall, set new material or patch compound, tape and feather the seams, then match the existing texture (knockdown, orange peel, smooth, or skip trowel) before priming the patch so paint takes evenly.

For water-damaged ceilings or walls, we'll also flag anything that looks like an ongoing leak rather than a one-time event, since patching over an active leak just means doing the repair again in a year.

What Affects Price

  • Size and number of patches
  • Texture complexity (smooth is fastest; hand-applied textures take longer to match)
  • Whether the cause of damage needs to be resolved first
  • Ceiling vs. wall (ceiling work is slower and needs more protection below)
  • Paint-ready patch vs. full paint match

Patch & Repair FAQ

Will the patch be visible after it's painted?

Not if the texture and sheen are matched correctly. That's the part most patch jobs get wrong. We match texture by hand before priming so the repaired section takes paint the same way the rest of the wall does.

How fast can you get to a small patch job?

Patch and repair jobs are usually quick to schedule since the scope is small and defined, ask for a same-day quote.

Do you fix the cause of water damage too?

We repair the drywall; if the cause is a roofing, plumbing, or gutter issue, we'll tell you what we see and can loop in the right Fort Comfort Services trade.
