We cut out the affected section, confirm the area is dry (or flag if it isn't and the leak needs to be fixed first), replace the damaged board, tape, and texture-match the repair into the surrounding ceiling or wall.
Water stains sometimes bleed through fresh paint if they're not sealed first. We prime repaired sections with a stain-blocking primer so the patch doesn't ghost through after painting.

Should I fix the leak before you patch the ceiling?
Yes, if the source is still active, patching over a damp or ongoing leak just means paying for the same repair again. If you're not sure whether it's resolved, we'll tell you what we see when we assess it.
Will the water stain show through after you patch it?
Not if it's sealed properly, water stains can bleed through regular paint, so we use a stain-blocking primer on repaired sections before final paint.
Is this covered by insurance?
